Dydd Mercher y Lludw
Dydd Mercher y Lludw, y dydd Mercher nesaf hwn, yw dechrau’r Grawys. Dethlir dau Gymun Bendigaid ar Gân yn ddwyieithog yn y Gadeirlan am 12.30pm a 6.00pm, pan y bydd y Canon dros Fywyd Cynulleidfaol yn pregethu. Caiff lludw ei arddodi yn y ddau wasanaeth. Mae Dydd Mercher y Lludw yn ddiwrnod arwyddocaol a sanctaidd yn y flwyddyn Gristnogol. Gwnewch bob ymdrech i fod yn bresennol yn un o’r ddau wasanaeth.
Cymanfa Gŵyl Ddewi
Byddwn yn dathlu gŵyl ein nawddsant cenedlaethol gyda Chymanfa yn y Gadeirlan am 6pm. Bu ein gwasanaethau Naw Llith a Charol yng ngolau cannwyll yn ystod yr Adfent a’r Nadolig yn achlysuron hynod boblogaidd a theimladwy. Gwnewch bob ymdrech i nodi’r diwrnod pwysig hwn drwy addoliad yn y Gadeirlan.
Clwb Cwyr y Gysegrfa
Bu i griw bychan, wedi ei gynnull gan un o Ysgolheigion y Gân, Aine Guy, gwrdd ddydd Gwener i loywi llestri Cymun a chanwyllbrennau arian a phres y Gaderilan. Diolch iddynt am eu gwaith diwyd. Byddant yn cwrdd eto, mewn pryd ar gyfer yr Wythnos Fawr, am 11am ddydd Gwener 31 Mawrth, gan orffen mewn pryd ar gyfer y Cymun dyddiol am 12.30pm. Bydd cwyr, cadachau, menig, te a choffi yn cael eu darparu! Mae croeso cynnes i unrhyw un ymuno, ac mae Aine yn hapus i ddarparu rhagor o fanylion ar ebost.
Urddwisgoedd
Heddiw yw’r Sul olaf y bydd y Gweinidogion wrth Fwrdd yr Allor yn yn gwisgo urddwisgoedd a fenthycwyd o Eglwys y Drindod Sanctaidd, Llandudno. Erbyn i ni ailddechrau gwisgo gwyrdd yn yr haf, bydd ein comisiwn o urddwisgoedd “Gwynedd” newydd wedi ei gwblhau, gan ddarparu ar ein cyfer urddwisgoedd teilwng yr holl liwiau litwrgaidd. Rydym yn ddiolchgar i Gyngor Ardal Weinidogaeth Bro Tudno a phobl y Drindod Sanctaidd am eu haelioni, a chadwn hwy yn ein gweddïau wrth iddynt baratoi ar gyfer cyfnod o amser heb Ficer dros y misoedd nesaf, wrth i’r Parchg Andrew Sully symud gyda’i wraig, ein Hesgob Cynorthwyol, i Esgobaeth Llandaf.
Trwyddedau parcio
Mae trwyddedau parcio 2023 nawr eu hangen ar gyfer defnyddio maes parcio’r Gadeirlan ar ddiwrnodau heblaw dydd Sul. Maent ar gael wedi gwasanaethau heddiw. Gwerthfawrogir cyfraniad rhodd hael tuag at gronfeydd y Gadeirlan.

From this past week at the Cathedral...
This Sunday and the week ahead...
Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday, falling this coming Wednesday, marks the beginning of Lent. Two Choral Holy Eucharists, at which the Canon for Congregational Life will preach, will be offered at the Cathedral at 12.30pm and 6.00pm. Ashes will be imposed at the two services. Ash Wednesdsy is a significant and holy day. Please make every effort to be present at one of the two services.
Saint David’s Day Carol Service
We will be marking the festival our national patron saint with a Carol Service at the Cathedral at 6pm. Our candlelit services during Advent and Christmastide proved hugely popular and very moving occasions. Please make every effort to mark this important day in worship at the Cathedral.
Sacristy Silver Guild
A small group, convened by one of our Choral Scholars, Aine Guy, met on Friday to polish the Cathedral’s silver and brass Communion vessels and candlesticks. We’re grateful to them for their hard work. They will be meeting again, ahead of Holy Week, at 11am on Friday 31 March, finishing in time for the 12.30pm daily Eucharist. Polish, cloths, gloves, tea and coffee are provided! There’s a warm welcome for anyone to join in, and Aine is happy to provide further details by email.
Vestments
This Sunday is the last Sunday on which the Sacred Ministers at the Eucharist will be wearing vestments borrowed from Holy Trinity Church, Llandudno. By the time we recommence wearing green in the summer, our commission of new “Gwynedd” vestments will have been completed, providing us with worthy vestments in all of the liturgical colours. We’re grateful to the Ministry Area Council of Bro Tudno and the people of Holy Trinity for their generosity, and we keep them in our prayers as they prepare for a period of time without a Vicar over coming months, as the Revd Andrew Sully moves with his wife, our Assistant Bishop, to the Diocese of Llandaff.
Parking permits
2023 parking permits are now required for use of the Cathedral car park on days other than Sunday. They are available at the end of today’s services. A generous donation towards the Cathedral’s funds is appreciated.

Choristers Sam and Christina present a half-term recital displaying their skills on their other instruments, including a performance of Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto.
2 March | Ella Leonard | Oboe
Bangor University student Ella Leonard pays a visit to the cathedral to introduce us to some key pieces of the oboe repertoire.
