Hysbys wythnosol
Cinio Dewch i Rannu
Cynhelir Cinio Dewch i Rannu ar ôl y Choral Holy Eucharist heddiw. Mae’r Cinio Dewch i Rannu yn gyfle am sgwrs, difyrrwch, croeso a charedigrwydd. Mae croeso i bawb o bob rhan o gymuned y Gadeirlan fynychu, ac ni chodir tâl.
Te Mefus
Hyfryd oedd gweld cymaint o deuluoedd yn ymuno â ni ar gyfer Te Parti’r Jiwbilî, nad oedd rhai ohonynt erioed wedi bod yn Gadeirlan o’r blaen. I ddilyn ymlaen o’r diwrnod hwnnw rydym yn cynnal Te Mefus ar 10 Awst am 2pm. Beth am ddod draw a gwahodd unrhyw deuluoedd yr ydych yn eu hadnabod i ddod gyda chi. Os hoffech chi helpu ar y diwrnod siaradwch â Naomi Wood.
Cyfres bregethu
“Fel coeden a blannwyd ar lan dyfroedd” Jeremeia 17:8
Dyma barhau heddiw â’n cyfres bregethu ar fore Sul. Yn ein pregethau’n y gyfres hon, byddwn yn myfyrio ar y ffynonellau sy’n ein helpu i ddirnad beth sy’n foesegol a da, a byddwn yn ystyried y rhinweddau hynny sy’n caniatáu inni feddwl, teimlo a gweithredu dros Dduw ac er daioni.
Eglwys y Groes, Maesgeirchen
Edrychwn ymlaen at ddechrau Cymun newydd yn Eglwys y Groes yn ddiweddarach yn yr haf, i’w gynnal am 2pm ar bnawn Iau. Yn y cyfamser, mae defnydd prysur o Eglwys y Groes yn ystod yr wythnos gan nifer fawr o grwpiau cymunedol yn parhau. Cadwch y cyfraniad gwerthfawr hwn i dystiolaethu’r Eglwys yn ein dinas yn eich gweddïau.
Gwaith i adeiledd y Gadeirlan
Mae gwaith ar chwythwr organau pib y Gadeirlan yn parhau i ddigwydd ac yn mynd yn dda. Rydym yn ddiolchgar i’n cerddorion am wneud iawn am y llai o rymoedd cerddorol sydd ar gael inni oherwydd bod rhannau o’r organ yn cael eu dadgomisiynu yn ystod y gwaith, y disgwylir iddo gael ei gwblhau yn ystod mis Awst.
Mae rhifyn cyfredol Buchedd Bangor yn amlinellu’r gwaith a fydd yn digwydd yn ystod Awst a Medi i osod system glywedol newydd yn y Gadeirlan. Gwneir gwaith hefyd dros fisoedd yr haf a’r hydref i waith maen Tŵr Ysgefitwn (ym mhen gorllewinol y Gadeirlan) a Thŵr Scott (ym mhwynt canolog y Gadeirlan), i wynebau’r cloc, ac i brif ddrysau’r Gadeirlan.
Dodrefn newydd ar gyfer Corff yr Eglwys
Ar gyfer cyfarfod Cabidwl y Gadeirlan yr wythnos ddiwethaf, bu i’r dylunydd dodrefn Luke Hughes baratoi prototeipiau o ddodrefn newydd ar gyfer Corff yr Eglwys. Bwriad y Cabidwl yw cymeradwyo set newydd o ddodrefn ar gyfer Corff yr Eglwys (gan gynnwys meinciau seddau, bwrdd yr allor a stondinau côr) sydd wedi’u dylunio’n benodol i gydgysylltu â chynllun addurniadol Scott ar gyfer to Corff yr Eglwys a’r Cwîr a’r Seintwar, tra hefyd yn hyblyg ac yn symudol i ymdopi â hyblygrwydd y defnydd cynyddol sy’n cael ei wneud ar hyn o bryd o adeilad y Gadeirlan yn feunyddiol.
Bydd manylion llawn y cynllun yn cael eu hamlinellu yn rhifyn Medi Buchedd Bangor.
Yn y cyfamser, mae rhai o’r prototeipiau i’w canfod yng Nghapel Mair. Ceir yma hefyd ddogfen wedi ei pharatoi ar gyfer y Cabidwl sy'n amlinellu cynlluniau a'r dewisiadau ar gyfer y dodrefn newydd. Croesewir pob adborth am y cynlluniau a'r dewisiadau.
Siaradwch â’r Is-Ddeon neu â’n Rheolwr Prosiect Cadwraeth a Datblygu, Simon Ogdon, os hoffech wybod mwy am unrhyw agwedd ar y gwaith cadwraeth a datblygu hyn.

Hollalluog Dduw, a ysbrydolaist dy esgob Deiniol i gasglu o’i gwmpas gymuned o Gristnogion i gyd-fyw bywyd cytun; caniatâ i ni, sy’n anrhydeddu’r cof amdano, weithio i atgyfnerthu teulu dy Eglwys mewn ffydd, gobaith a chariad; trwy Iesu Grist ein Gwaredwr. Amen.

Bring & Share Lunch
A Bring & Share Lunch takes place after the 11am Choral Holy Eucharist. The Bring & Share Lunch is an opportunity for conversation, conviviality, welcome and kindness. All from across the Cathedral community are welcome to attend, and there is no charge.
Strawberry Tea
It was wonderful to see so many families join us for the Jubilee Tea Party, some of whom had never been into the Cathedral before. To follow on from that day we are hosting a Strawberry Tea on 10 August at 2pm. Why not come along and invite any families you know to come along. If you’d like to help on the day please speak to Naomi Wood.
Sermon series
“Like a tree planted by water” Jeremiah 17:8
This Sunday we hear the fifth in our sermon series at our Sunday morning services, during which we are reflecting on the sources that help us to discern what is ethical and good, and we will consider those virtues that allow us to think, feel and act for God and for good.
Eglwys y Groes, Maesgeirchen
We are looking forward to the commencement later in the summer of a new weekday Eucharist at Eglwys y Groes, to take place at 2pm on Thursdays. In the meantime, the busy weekday use of Eglwys y Groes by a large number of community groups continues. Please keep this valuable contribution to the witness of the Church in our city in your prayers.
Works to the Cathedral fabric
Works to the Cathedral’s pipe organ blower are continuing to take place and going well. We are grateful to our musicians for compensating for the reduced musical forces at our disposal due to parts of the organ being decommissioned for the duration of the works, which are expected to be completed during August.
The current issue of Buchedd Bangor outlines the work that will take place during August and September to install a new audio-visual system in the Cathedral. Over the summer months and into the autumn, we also expect repair and restoration work to be undertaken to the external masonry of the Skeffington Tower (at the west end of the Cathedral) and the Scott Tower (at the central point of the Cathedral), to the clock faces, and to the Cathedral’s main doors.
New furniture for the Nave of the Cathedral
For the Cathedral Chapter meeting this past week, the furniture designer Luke Hughes prepared prototypes of new furniture for the Nave of the Cathedral. The Chapter’s intention is to commend a new set of furniture for the Nave (including pew benches, altar-table and choir stalls) that are specifically designed to coordinate with the Scott decorative scheme for the Nave roof and the Quire and Presbytery, while also being flexible and moveable to accommodate with flexibility the greater day-to-day use that is currently being made of the Cathedral building.
Full details of the scheme will be outlined in the September issue of Buchedd Bangor.
In the meantime, some of the Luke Hughes prototypes can be seen in the Lady Chapel. Here, the Luke Hughes document, prepared for the Chapter and outlining and plans and options regarding the new furniture, can be read. All comments and feedback are warmly welcome.
Please speak to the Sub-Dean or to our Conservation & Development Project Manager, Simon Ogdon, if you would like to know more about any aspect of these maintenance, conservation and development works.

The fourth edition of Saint Deiniol’s Cathedral in Bangor's new magazine
This fourth edition is a companion to the summer months. It offers a mixture of devotional material and practical knowledge about our life together.
Click on the image above to read a copy.
The intention is to publish five issues of Buchedd Bangor over the course of the year, each coinciding with a specific period in the Cathedral’s worshipping life, and complementing a series of Sunday morning sermons that will guide us through each period.
