Hysbys wythnosol

Defod Sancteiddrwydd

Llithoedd a Charolau’r Ystwyll yng Ngolau Cannwyll
Dydd Sul 9 Ionawr am 5.30pm

Byddwn yn ymgynnull y nos Sul hwn i addoli Duw yng Nghrist Iesu, sydd inni’n sancteiddrwydd perffaith.

Mae’n sancteiddrwydd a welodd y Doethion yn eu mysg ym Methlehem – y diweddar-ddyfodiaid hynny i’r Preseb, ond a ddysgasant yno, dan arweiniad y seren, gynrychiolaeth o ddoethineb yr holl fyd ymgrymu ger bron sancteiddrwydd Crist.

Mae traddodiad sanctaidd yn cysylltu dau amlygiad arall â’r amlygiad i’r Doethion: bedydd Crist yn Afon Iorddonen, pan y caiff ei alwedigaeth ddwyfol ei chyhoeddi a’i deall; a’i droad o ddŵr yn win yng Nghana – y cyntaf o’i arwyddion o Greadigaeth Newydd Duw.

Ac felly, y Sul hwn, awn ar daith i Fethlehem, i ddyfroedd yr Iorddonen, ac i’r wledd briodas yng Nghana Galilea, yno i weld ac addoli’r sancteiddrwydd a amlygir i ni yn Iesu Grist, Duw gyda ni.

Hwn yw’r olaf o’n tair defod draddodiadol, dirdynnol a cherddorol ar nos Sul yn ystod cyfnod y Nadolig. Dewch yn llu – bu’r ddwy ddefod flaenorol yn wych.

Maes parcio

Mae trwyddedau ar gyfer parcio yn ystod yr wythnos ym maes parcio’r Gadeirlan yn 2022 ar gael wedi gwasanaethau’r Sul. Gofynnir am rodd. Nid oes angen trwyddedau i barcio ar ddydd Sul nes bydd rhybudd pellach.

Gosber ar Gân

Dros yr ychydig fisoedd diwethaf, ailgyflwynwyd Gosber ar Gân fel gwasanaeth dwyieithog ar ddydd Sul am 3.30pm ac ar ddydd Iau am 5.30pm. Rydyn ni wrth ein bodd y byddwn ni, o fis Chwefror ymlaen, hefyd yn gallu offrymu Gosber ar Gân ar ddydd Mawrth am 5.30pm. Cefnogwch y gwasanaethau hyn gyda’ch presenoldeb. Mae’r Gosber ar Gân hefyd yn wasanaeth rhagorol i ddod â ffrind iddo, gan gloriannu cynifer o elfennau cyfoethog ein traddodiad Anglicanaidd.

A Ceremony of Holiness

Epiphany Lessons and Carols by Candlelight
Sunday 9 January at 5.30pm

We will gather this Sunday evening to worship God in Christ Jesus, who is for us perfect holiness.

It is a holiness that the Magi saw in Bethlehem – those late-comers to the Crib, but whose eventual arrival, guided by the star, allowed Christ’s holiness to be revealed to representatives of the wisdom of the whole world.

Holy tradition associates two other manifestations with the manifestation to the Magi: Christ’s baptism in the River Jordan, when his divine calling was proclaimed and understood; and his turning of water into wine at Cana – the first of his signs of God’s New Heaven and New Earth.

And so, this Sunday evening, we will spend time at Bethlehem, at the Jordan, and at Cana of Galilee, there to see and worship the holiness made manifest to us in Jesus Christ, God with us.

This is the last of our three traditional, atmospheric and musically-rich carol ceremonies. Please make every effort to attend – the previous two ceremonies have been wonderful.

Car park

Weekday Cathedral car parking permits for 2022 will be available from the Cathedral team at Sunday services. A donation is requested. No permits are required to park on Sundays until further notice.

Choral Evensong

The last few months have seen the reintroduction of Choral Evensong as a bilingual service on Sundays at 3.30pm and on Thursdays at 5.30pm. We’re delighted that, from February onwards, we will also be able to offer Choral Evensong on Tuesdays at 5.30pm. Please support these services with your presence. Choral Evensong is also an excellent service to which to bring a friend along, contining as it does much of the richness of our Anglican tradition.

Buchedd Bangor

The new magazine of Saint Deiniol’s Cathedral in Bangor

This first edition is a companion to the period from Advent Sunday (28 November) until the end of Christmastide on Candlemas Day (30 January). It offers a mixture of devotional material and practical knowledge about our life together.

Click on the image above to read a copy.

The intention is to publish five issues of Buchedd Bangor over the course of the year, each coinciding with a specific period in the Cathedral’s worshipping life, and complementing a series of Sunday morning sermons that will guide us through each period.
